Airth: The Startup Turning Everyday ACs Into Life-Saving Air Purifiers

Founded in 2020 by IIT Bombay alumnus Ravi Kaushik and co-founder Abhimanyu Kumar, Airth is a Delhi-based startup revolutionizing indoor air quality. The company has developed an innovative air purifier add-on that integrates seamlessly with existing air conditioning units, converting them into efficient air purifiers without the need for additional power sources.
Airth's air purification solution employs advanced coated HEPA filters, engineered with polyphenols and polycationic polymers. This technology effectively captures and neutralizes pollutants, bacteria, and viruses, ensuring cleaner indoor air. The purifier boasts a 99% air purification rate and 90% efficiency against PM2.5 particles. Its design allows for easy DIY installation in under a minute, making it accessible for both residential and commercial use.
Airth gained significant attention after appearing on Season 4 of Shark Tank India. The founders pitched their product, seeking ₹60 lakhs for a 1% equity stake. Impressed by the innovation and potential impact, investors Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh offered ₹96 lakhs for a 4% equity share, which the founders accepted. This investment valued the company at ₹24 crore and provided a substantial boost to its visibility and credibility.
Since its inception, Airth has upgraded over 30,000 AC units across India, delivering approximately 700,000 cubic meters of clean air daily. The company's clientele spans various sectors, including healthcare, education, hospitality, and government institutions. Airth's products are available for different AC configurations, such as split, window, and cassette units, ensuring broad applicability.
With the successful Shark Tank investment and growing awareness of indoor air quality's importance, Airth aims to expand its product line and reach. The company continues to focus on research and development to enhance its technology and offer innovative solutions for healthier indoor environments.
